Birthday travels

On the occasion of becoming another year older, my brother decided we should visit the Tiritea Sawmill to purchase some macrocarpa timber for the manufacture of more tui feeders.

He then further decided that I needed to see some of the backblocks of Palmerston North so into the foothills of the Tararua's  we ventured where I was shown some lovely countryside complete with babbling brook and peaceful bush. Indeed an oasis away from the bustling metropolis of Palmerston North.

Tramping tracks into the hills, actually an old sledge track which leads up to the top where there are disused platinum mines
